Thanks Nack, that should keep me going for now.

Tempted to use H for run and hit, but could use R (I would know that H was released for further use but that would not help others who couldn't make that assumption - if there was another hit somewhere else) On the other hand you seem to indicate a preference to using the non hit character if it would be that even withot the hit.

As you said X when hit is down but S when hit is split, and D for hitting down (H when the hit is somewhere else)

Slot rules memorised with SMUT ! This does seem to have the effect of making the more obvious/natural slot the default choice (no doubt the whole point about that specific heirarchy!)
