That is my observation in real live also. Example. Intensive insulin therapy was a major issue in perioperative treatment of surgical patients. After discovering hypoglycemia as a malus, destroying the benefit, many therapists cranked up the treshhold from 90-110 to 130-150 for blood glucose level. That lowered the danger of severe hypoglycemia, but also cut significant of the better outcome from tight glucose control. But if you can manage tight 90-110 with tight monitoring to have no drawbacks due to hypoglycemia, there is no reason to follow the new treshholds. It depends. So in backgammon. I love it.
