I don't think I would hit here. Without trying to do any match equity calculations, I expect that with this kind of lead in the match one should err on the side of less gammonish plays. Hitting will certainly lose more gammons. If we don't hit then 23/14 is the obvious alternative.

Stick's alternative was presumably cooked up to make hitting right. I suppose that the opponent's sixes are already fairly good for escaping. I don't know that I'd hit without QF though.

In John's original position, I'd be interested in knowing whether hitting is right at DMP. Seems possible.
