I am not sure I get your questions.

The way I would approach this position is that I'd first note that white needs about 40% GWC to take, and that with us having 27 hits with another blot to follow and a good 5-point board, White does not have 40%. So if we double, pass. Then I'd consider that to win a gammon, we would need to hit one, then the second, then successfully close out, then win the gammon from there. It can happen, but is not that likely. Maybe 1/3 gammons, so in the low twenties as an absolute percentage? If that is right, we lose more games than we win gammons, and with a gammon price below 1 we should cash.
