US OPEN results

After a considerably longer time than anyone seems to think esp. when talking about backgammon tournaments where someone like Mary attends (and I'm guessing) maybe 5 a year?
I also hate taking results into account when nobody pays attention to the specifics. How many tournaments did that person enter? (including Masters, doubles, etc...) Just because you see someone's name a lot doesn't mean they're doing well. This last tournament in Ft. Lauderdale Paul Weaver won the Masters Jackpot. Sounds impressive on the surface ... now note there were 10 players entered, plunk. Or how about being able to enter a round ahead of everyone else in the Jackpot events as I've done before, the win becomes less impressive. How about buying back in and cashing. All these things seem to be swept under the rug when digesting results and all that matters is whose face appears on the CP or whose name is listed after the 1-.
I take results into account as soon as I see the recorded match (or preferably watch it live). The results are how they played that match, not whether they won or lost. Not everyone has this luxury.
