Lots of choices.
- P 8/4 6/4 makes the best point but leaves 16 shots.
- p 19/9 11/9 is safer but the point is less valuable
- H 11/5* offers return 18 shots. The slotted 5-point can't be more valuable than the made 4-point.
- 24/20 13/11 makes a point and looks to anchor.
- U 24/20 23/21 is plausible at GS since it seeks to anchor.
I think I'd choose the nine point at all scores. I don't see anything that is clearly less gammonish to make me play otherwise at GS. Advancing the back chequers is OK, but when I'm already split the move loses some of it's value because splitting has already increased the number of anchoring rolls.
Maybe, at scores other than GS, it's correct to make the four point and prepare to slug it out with the stronger board if hit.
How should one nactate 24/20 13/11? With P and p already used, do we go to P or can we use B (both up & down)?
