And for my play today, it feels that its nice and clear to block 6s, block 5s, and spread everything else.

So, 13pt stays, 16pt shifts to the 15pt, 18 splits, and move the 7 to 6. Achieves and accomplishes all the major goals of the position (protect your position, create builders, take control of the outfield, prepare to do next time what you couldnt do this time - crush the checker)

Hitting might be right if there was some way to expose another blot, but there isnt yet. Of course, Stick is posting this to make all of us sensible players look like idiots, so the right answer is probably something insane like a banana splot play, or a complete spread the checkers in the outfield pile of doodad.
