In Response To: The two-hand rule (Jason Lee)

One hand only... as in, sit on the other one if you think you can't deal with it. No more than one hand should be used to complete a turn. And enforce this rule the first time it is violated, and every time therafter. It only takes one instance where your opponent is sitting there with two checkers in the air, one in each hand, asking you what the original position was (particularly when doublets have been rolled), to make you wish you enforced this rule more regularly.

As for checking multiple plays, I'm all for it, but only if done in a non-ambiguous manner. To ensure non-ambiguity, I would like to see a rule in place that reads something like this: "if a checker is played legally to another point, and is not accentuated (pushed away from the uppermost checker on the point, or the siderail if no checkers on that point, more than the thickness of one of the checkers in use), opponent has the choice to condone this full or partial play, or allow the opponent to return to the original position and play legally".

Another rule I'd like to see is "if a legal play is made, with checkers properly accentuated on their points, each of those checkers must go back to their original points before any other checkers can be moved, otherwise opponent gets choice to condone this full or partial play, or allow the opponent to return to the original position and play legally."
