I think it depends on context. Most of the time no problem, against an opponent who repeatedly did odd things I'd object.

I did know one who would regularly push checkers about to make the move legal as a whole but in weird ways... eg. boxes on his first roll would be 24/18(2) normally then slide two checkers off 13 to 9, then on to 8 pushing two of the 8-point checkers to 7. Irritating!
