Backgammon Books - Promoting Backgammon

It is true that paying for shelter is more important than paying for backgammon books (assuming there is no net gain from buying books). But remember that the authors must also pay for a roof over their heads.
In other words, it is equally valid to say the players should support the authors as the other way around.
I would no more expect authors to work for free than I would expect TDs to put on tournaments for free. Of course, if an author wants to do that, then great. (And I appreciate your work on Gnu.) But I would neither expect nor encourage an author to do that.
Beyond that, it is great to see all the knowledge that is shared at tournaments. And speaking of TDs, extra kudos to the ones that schedule some sort of educational program.
