Backgammon Books - Promoting Backgammon

I'm a libertarian. I am also egalitarian, so I don't care to think in terms of the elite. I do not recognize anyone as elite.
It was recently discussed on this site that a lot of great information is available here for free. I think that's fine. Having GNU available for free has been great for the game. There is a lot of information available for free. I think that what you see available for free is what can be expected, no more, no less. If someone wanted to provide more information for free, they would do so.
I would like to see more information available for sale. The amount of Chess literature available for sale is overwhelming. The reasons that there isn't more information available for sale in Backgammon is that the spend is low. I guess that if players wanted to spend more, they would do so. I find that disappointing. But, it is what it is.
So, here we are. I expect this is the way it is going to be. The "Haves" and the "Have nots" do not have equal opportunity. But, that's a complicated equation. I'm working 70 hour work weeks right now. I can afford to buy a book. But, I have no time to read it. The unemployed may not be able to buy a book, but they have time to practice the game. Things are never "equal" and that's OK. What needs to be equal is the opportunity to choose a path for one's life.
