I believe that many, if not most, ABT directors do not make any money for their efforts. One prominent director told me that he has routinely lost about $5,000 a year on his event. My wife has run an ABT event the last few years and has taken zero compensation for her efforts. And that's OK if someone wants to do that for the love of the game. I don't think service for free should be expected or demanded.
