Hmmm... Slot the point in front of the prime and try to pick up a third checker, or just play safely? My hunch is that black wouldn't bite unless he rolls something really good like 11 or 31. So I see that ruse as either not working or backfiring.

There may be other advantages of slotting the 2 point, but I'm going to play it safe with 9/3 8/5.
