Here's one variant off the top of my head: 54: 8 20; 41: 5* 9; 32: 20*; 42: ?

Now XGR+ has 23 9 on top by a mere .001 over 23 5*.

Differences are that you can't make an advanced anchor; opponent's forward position isn't as threatening; your forward position is better with 8 point not stripped.

In above position, change opponent's hitting roll to 43: 22 20* instead of 32: 20*, and now 23 9 is clearly right (XGR+ says by .056). Hitting gains less because with missing 3s opponent can anchor. Covering gains more because the 9 point blocks and menaces two blots within its direct range.
