Bring Back the Holland Rule

Phil, you have to realize that you're one of a very small minority of people who see no cost to introducing lots of fussy little rule adjustments to a game. The rest of the world understands that there's a cost. It's just plain annoying to have weird little rules floating around. Now, if the game is massively improved as a result, then maybe you can argue for it. But the Holland Rule clearly does not massively improve the game of backgammon. It's not clear to me that it improves the game at all, and if it does, it's only by a tiny amount. It's simply not worth the bother.
A fussy little rule adjustment is never an enhancement to a game. At best, it's a band-aid for something that would otherwise be seriously broken. As others have said, there's nothing broken here. Don't try to fix it.
