Mr "Self-Professor" of backgammon, I will snip the contents of your post because It is clear that what you are saying is that anything critical of what you might be doing is negative and not good for backgammon. It is clear you are an inflexible, single minded, closed minded individual who can not accept criticism, and you've made it clear. I know some of your peers feel the same way, so I will out and say it. One of your problems (and I think it drives your motivations) is that you have mastered the Art of Self promotion under the guise of Backgammon Promotion.
You go on to say "You say you didn't mean to be negative about other avenues of promotion, but your first post stated that "we don't need federations....backgammon in schools....etc."
Please quote the original post where I said "we don't need federations". I said nothing of the sort. I also mentioned BOTS in the same sentence (and I work on one). I question whether federations, bots, books, etc etc are the key to the long term future growth of backgammon.
As for the guide in schools. Do you tell teachers what to do and say when the first anal parents finally recognize that there is Gambling being promoted? Please don't say it won't happen (Your friends in the Poker world might be accelerating the chance it will happen with the few schools that have started Poker Clubs). Hell in some countries someone might just go as far as hiring an attorney and work on civil suits. You seem to miss the fact that for the moment you are flying under the radar. That won't last. I assume you have a plan to form a lobbyist movement in the event that such things do occur. I'll tell you - its not if it will happen, it is when.
Now if you are actually interested in rationale discourse here are a couple questions. Do you believe that there is a misconception about Backgammon as a gambling game that needs to be changed? Second question (If you said yes) - If there is a misconception how do you intend to lobby it and promote that fact. What would be your pitch? If there is anything I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
