Santa Fe Championship Final

Suppose you have your back checkers split on 24 and 23 point and have a one to play. I thought I had figured out when to anchor up and when to split further to 22 point but apparently not. There are also some other big holes I need to fix that this match showed me.

The following two positions are a good pair:
