Yes, against 3-4 point blocks. At that time we all had it as an utter sin. I think it was Kit Woolsey/Heinrich in their woderful Matchqiz series - anyone has them today? - that propagated 12-14 point racing deficit plus a 3-4 pt hitting probability vig = 17-18 deficit take point in medium race holding games.
