It seems to me that you are creating bogus interpretations. H3 would not mean Hit on the 3pt, and HA would not mean Hit and Attack, any more than HH or Hh in a binary system would mean hit twice or HhH would mean hit thrice.
There is no ambiguity in the two-character system, because a second character ALWAYS means the "nth member."
I also think it is easier for a human to translate a two-character system than binary. The first ten members, e.g., 4 = fourth, 8 = eighth) are completely obvious. Then (in cases of very rare necessity), A through J are 11–20, and a through j are 21–30, second rotation 1 through 0 are 31-40, etc.
