XP vs Vista (Firefox/IE)

Thanks and sorry about my confusion. Yes, I have Excel 2007. And yes, setting the Font menu to Calibri (matching my main font) conjures the Subset menu.
So, I type the letter "E" in a cell, click on Insert/Symbol, set to Calibri, Subset menu / Combining Diacritical Marks. And I'm already in Unicode (hex) in the bottom right menu. So far, so good.
Now what? I can't seem to find 0331 or 0332 by clicking randomly, no symbol in the general area looks like an underliner, and manually typing 0331 or 0332 doesn't underline my E either. Further hints are welcome.
Also, in Microsoft Word 2007, I tried typing "E0332"/alt-x, but the result is an E followed by a square. Perhaps this is because my operating system is XP instead of Vista/whatever, and that also explains why the underline function may not exist/work in Excel?
David, do you still need help and have you tried any of this?
Nack
