In Response To: The Backgammon Club of the Future--I have a different dream (Casper van der Tak)

Phil has a lot of great ideas and he is a person who puts his money where his mouth is. Few people realize how much he sacrifices for the game. He is constantly giving while expecting nothing in return. My comments were narrowly directed at something being required rather than encouraged. Besides the fact that I don't like it, I feel mandates never work. I suspect the "requirement" was secondary to Phil's main point which was to create a culture of sharing. I share Phil's vision of cooperation.
