How many of those items were so named by the inventor, and how many were so named by other people?

In my own field, mathematics, the stigma associated with naming something after yourself has led to some curious situations. For example, the Tutte polynomial is called the "Tutte polynomial" by everyone except Tutte, who called it the "dichromatic polynomial."
