Quick How to Nactate this question

Petter knows he is right, but I'll confirm anyway. Petter is right.
I guess I am being to literal with the meaning of S.
Exactly. Some letters in Nactation are chosen to give you the general idea, but the actual letter fills a specific need that makes the system work.
For example, A = Attack, but it's only supposed to point you to the area of the board where checkers are normally attacked, as a memory aid. A actually means that half the move is played from outer to inner board, and the other half is played within the inner board. This is an "attacking" move in the case of 52S-55A (and many other positions), but not for a play like 52S-66B-41A, which is 8/4 6/5 even though there is nothing to attack.
The first couple of moves of the game are best correlated with most letters. For example, opening 43S or 62S are clear examples of SPLIT-and-down moves. The "and down" part is built into the definition of S. The other piece of information is that the "split" half of that phrase is actually broadened to include any movement of a checker on the far side (including entering).
For further clarity, here is a recent S discussion. You might also find the B/S/Z clarification interesting (though more advanced).
