Paul, I like your idea of writing down the starting time on the score sheets. I am thinking of expanding that idea for my scoresheets at this year's Chicago Open. I am considering the addition of an end time and a spot to mark whether or not the match was clocked. This will give me some data on the length of time it takes to play a clocked vs unclocked match.

Two years ago I asked players to write down three things they liked about the Chicago Open and three things they believed could have been better. Last year I used Surveymonkey.com to send out surveys as well. Each year I have used these surveys to improve my planning of the event for the following year.
