I doubt it would occur to me to double as white OTB, but let's see if it can be justified: If white fails to enter, black has strong gammon chances and a gammon wins the match. So white is like a cornered wounded animal here - might as well go for broke. The other factor is that if white hits and enters both checkers he'll lose his market. And there's no recube vig once the cube is at 4.
Does that add up to a double? Not sure. It's certainly a take. As I said, I'd hold this over the board, but won't be surprised if it's a double. OTB, my big mistake would probably be to not even consider it.
