In this sort of position we are not trying to block White's back checkers; White has a ton of timing and we can't possibly hold a prime long enough to cause White any awkwardness.

The best points to position checkers in this sort of position are inside the board in front of the anchor, with the 6pt being the best point. The 8pt is the worst point to occupy, followed by the 7pt. The 9pt (seven away) is quite good and then things get worse the further back you get. Based on these principles my play is either 15/6 or 15/9 13/10. Since the 9pt is already a good point to occupy, the marginal improvement from the 9pt to the 6pt should be less than the marginal improvement from the 13pt to the 10pt. If we're missed, our position plays more smoothly after 15/9 13/10. On the other hand, 15/9 13/10 does leave more immediate shots, and while it's not so bad to get hit, we'd prefer not to get hit. It looks like a close call, so I think that neither play is a big error. If White had made some more progress building her board then I'd lean towards 15/6 but here I will play:

15/9 13/10
