White should double now, and Black still has a take, based on the race lead. At the moment it is 11 checkers against one, soon 12 against one, and black can still take. But if White waits, then a sequence in which the spare checker from the 20 jumps in the outfield and the midpoint checker is brought down, followed by Black non-hitting or rolling a 2, is a market loss: 12 or 13 checkers working against a single back checker that it not yet at the edge of the 5-prime.
