My guess is Dmitriy is referring to Stick's recent article at GammonVillage about making the 5pt.

I'll say that in this position, it took me a little while to make up my mind, but I decided to hit. In the abstract, making the 5pt and hitting in the outfield are both powerful plays, so one needs to look at specifics. For me, the big consideration here was that White has escaped all her checkers from our inner board, and has a reasonably flexible position that may not yield another shot any time soon. Sending a White checker back therefore has elevated value.
