The bots played at their best settings ... 2-ply for Gnu Backgammon.

Yes, I should clarify: "... their best settings (at the time)"

"Overall Errors." I think I'd change that to "Total Errors,"

Good idea.

... order the "Bot Comparison — 2010 Study" by "Total Errors" ...

This is the order Michael presented the data. The idea was to group bots/settings by the amount of lookahead they are doing to make it easier to compare bots at similar settings.
