Thanks for clarification on these issues.

My point about typing "51$-21" into Search was only that an unwieldy number of posts come up because any post that has both "51" (without the $) and "-21" in the body qualifies. I'm sure you know that, though.

I don't understand why typing "21$-21" into Search doesn't similarly bring up posts that include both "21" and "-21." Either it brings up everything with a overlapping single entry of "-21" or it brings up everything with both, right? Is it that there are too many qualifiers and so it defaults to showing none?

When you search for 51$-21 via ... the find function of the web browser or ctrl + f you get no results... If you try 21$-21 you will see the ... find function is able to locate these posts.

I don't get it. Why should those two differ in findability from each other? Perhaps there doesn't happen to be a header with the 51$-21 character string (and btw, seemingly not with 21$-21 either), but for example ctrl+f with 51$-61, 51S-21, 21$-63, 51@-61, 21@-61 and 21@-66 all bring up something.
