club points -- seeking ideas

For the Northern Virginia club we use the ABT 2006 and prior formula where.....

Points = Number of players * the proportion of prize pool won. Any splits w/o playing the match splits the points as well. If the match is played, points are awarded in accordance with official prizes w/o counting hedging or splits.

6 players or less - 6 points to the winner. double elimination

7/8 players.... 2/3 to 1st, 1/3 to 1st consolation.

9-16 players.... 1/2 to 1st, 1/4 2nd, 1/4 to 1st consolation.

More then 16.... 4/9, 2/9, 2/9, 1/9

No esteem points for showing up and playing a match or 2.....however, I believe every player that has ever played in 5-10 or more tournaments has won points the old fashioned way......They earned them......
