I'd keep a double 6, and would not cube and re-roll. This as an example.

I think this variant is interesting and skill intensive because more cubes can be taken, and the decision what to cube and what not becomes more difficult. Pretty sure the expected winnings of a good BG player would be higher in this variant than in normal BG, because you'd often need to be able to assess whether a roll is good/bad (and by how much) compared to the weighted average.
