Another wild position: 52D-43D-43

One of my earliest posts to this forum was this position, where slotting and splitting is probably the best play. Along similar lines is this position posted by Rich Munitz.

Part of what's "bad" about slotting and splitting is that it leaves you vulnerable to an attack, especially if your opponent double hits. However, if some of the hitting rolls are duplicated then you're not so likely to be hit twice. Also you need to ask yourself, "What's Plan B?" If the alternative moves also leave you with an uncomfortable position then slotting and splitting at least gives you a chance to improve your position next roll if things go well.
