I see your point; however, I've noticed that some players who are otherwise close to my playing strength have certain serious misunderstandings; e.g., one person in my group likes to make aggressive doubles in mutual holding games where he has only a slight edge. (I hope to post an example of this soon.) Having some clue where the beaver/no-beaver line is should help my game, I think.
