hitting gains major ground in the race, while making the 5 makes our most valuable board point. both of these plays have costs associated - making the 5 gives up the 8 AND exposes a blot to 13 #s. hitting (15*/14) gives up the "anchor" and exposes two blots. perhaps we could consider 6/2 or even 6/*/2, or even 13/10 6/5. close call in any case. i'd go for the 5 point since it begins unstacking the heavy 6.
