I was basing my list off of recent major championship level events (NABCs, WBF, Bermuda Bowls) While Kantar, Berkowitz, Cohen, and Lawrence are great bridge minds, and I have read many of thier writings, they (unfortunately) aren't much on the major tournament scene right now.
Meckwell is arguably the best pair in existence right now, while Gitelman/Moss might be the hottest pair at the moment. Fantoni/Nunes are probably the strongest European pair with Helness/Helgemo a close second.
Vanderbilt is coming up soon (Louisville Mar 10-20) so we'll see who stays hot and who doesn't. I think Nickell's team may just come out on top this year (Meckstroth/Rodwell, Zia/Hamman, Nickell/Katz) but being a single elim knockout, anything can happen!
