Illegal versus impossible

USBGF and ABT should join forces and enact a new set of rules for Tournament backgammon in the USA that make it a requirement that all events be run as "legal play only".

I understand sometimes that an illegal play may go missed by both players (or one notices and hides the fact that they observed it). That will happen. If a kibitzer notices a problem they should have the right to bring it to the attention of the players and if need be the director of the event.

I think that by allowing illegal play usage - it is not really in the true spirit of Backgammon and in some cases sportsmanship.
