Legal plays?? - Limited role for kibitzers?

IMHO, there are good arguments on each side here. Certainly, there is a possibility that kibbitzers will lie or (more likely) speak up selectively. But for a significant match, where there are numerous spectators, that is not likely to be an issue. Perhaps kibitzers could be allowed to point out illegal moves if there is a sufficient number present, as for finals, etc.
Or, to take care of the most obvious drawback -- don't let kibbitzers opine on what the roll was (unless asked), or whether a player stole a pip or two, but do allow them to point out impossible moves, like putting own checker on bar or bearing off opp's checker. There are some gray areas, of course -- e.g., what if a player bears off 5 checkers with a double? That could lead to an argument of how many were actually borne off. But there shouldn't be arguments about the two previous examples. Another might be if a player leaps a 6 prime, or plays moves a checker even though both numbers are blocked. I think there is a bright line to be drawn -- if there can be no argument about whether a play was legal, the kib should be able to point it out.
