I think Neil Robins's analysis was pretty good. Since we can't do anything about the home-board blot, Plan B is to capitalize on our race lead by scooting our checkers around. If you count covering numbers (assuming our opponent dances) then 22/14 20/16(2) provides just about as many covering numbers as 22/18 20/16(2) 13/9, and with less exposure since White's stripped outfield points can't hit without leaving a lot of return shots.
