I don't think I should alter the commonly accepted rules solely for my event.

I appreciate that, but could I just note that ABT tournaments aren't required to use USBTR&P, and in fact a good percentage of ABT tournaments last year and this don't use them. I can think of two directors who in the past used "modified" USBTR&P for their tournaments, and even if you'd rather not (like them) be stepping out alone, so to speak, you wouldn't be alone if, say, Pittsburgh decided to use WBA rules instead of USBTR&P.

I think WBA rules are better. I'd like to hear from anyone who doesn't think so. I'd also hope that no one thinks I think less of the USBTR&P rulemakers for thinking WBA rules are an improvement. My understanding is that WBA rules are basically the original USBTR&P rules, thoroughly revised by Morten Aagren and fellow DBgFers, and slightly revised once again by Steen Groenbech and Chiva Taffazoli. They're a tribute to everyone who has been involved in rulewriting for the last 20 years.
