Well, I must be doing something nonstandard then. Say I see an interesting position here on BGO. I go to XG and I enter the position manually. Then I click on the "Analyze" menu and select "Analyze position." XG thinks for a while and then presents me with evaluations of various moves. My Analyze level is set to World Class. Typically, some moves will show up with 4-ply evaluations. Sometimes, the icon shows up next to the 3-ply play, but sometimes the icon is absent.

As I said, this is not really a big deal since I don't really care that much, but it is puzzling.
