Illegal / Impossible / Condonable

Your list of questions is interesting and I don't have the energy to analyze each one.
However, your question is inaccurate. The question to be asked is not:
"Is this an illegal play?"
The question to be asked is:
"Is this an illegal play THAT CAN BE CONDONED BY THE OPPONENT?"
That the point.
If you just ask "is this illegal', putting your own checker on the bar is, OF COURSE, illegal. All this stuff is illegal. It's the last clause that we need to decide. Saying: 'putting your own checker on the bar is not illegal' is horribly confusing.
Some illegal plays should be condonable, some should not. (Even I agree to the latter.) And a specific list of non-condonable actions (a better word than 'move' or 'play') would be fine with me.
It is time for the USBGF to take the US Backgammon Rules and Tournament Procedures and amend them. When can we expect this to start happening?
P.S. Adding unenforceable rules that require guesses about intentions or knowledge is an error in any rule set for any game. Only ACTIONS should be considered.
