Foul up these aces

why does 5-1 force the opponent to hit? I count only 6 forced hits.)
5-1 is the new 6-2. Recap: after 22/21(2) 2/1*, 1-1 2-2 2-1 6-1 6-2 must hit.
Do we remake the 1pt or 2pt when the opportunity presents itself, or do we leave the blots there, hoping to get hit later?
Make the acepoint? Heretic! Leave them. You'll likely have more opportunities to force Opp to hit. That's one reason I don't play the not-bad 6/5* here even thought as Joe points out that increases numbers that immediately hit on the ace or deuce points -- 6/5 will likely be an option later, or an outfield hit combined with the 6 point, giving Opp another chance to recirculate your checkers for you.
Re finally I hit my shot, whereupon I no longer want to get hit [on the ace and deuce points] , I'd say that it depends on how the game goes, natch, but usually you either have already made those points, or can make them, or don't mind if checkers are hit and recirculated. F.ex. you play 2/1* and they're never hit and you make the 6-5-4-3 or 7-6-5-4 when you get a shot and hit. Well, you still have 5 back, so a 6th back shouldn't be bad; if your prime is 7-6-5-4 or 8-7-6-5, a 6th back should definitely be better than a miniprime and an unconnected 2 point (and unconnected made 1 point will likely really not be what you want).
Thinking of 6/5* and 2/1* as slotting plays doesn't seem to me to be at all useful here since you want the checkers hit. If you play 6/5 and don't get hit, well, you'd really rather have not played 6/5 and still have the 6 point, which you do know you will want. You're worried about not being able to cover the ace and deuce point in time later, if/when you want those points? I'd be more concerned about not timely covering the "slotted" 6 and 5 points. You seem to imply that you'd rather have blots on 6 and 5 and a made deuce point, then a made 6 point and blots on the 2 and 1 points. I think just the opposite.
