Thank you, I prefer D here, as well. It is provocative, as White will be forced to hit, yet will not be able to do so while also strengthening his/her inner board, barring an ugly play of boxes. Blue has been gifted the 5 and 4pts right out of the gate—might as well put them to use, and force a melee. Hit/return hit/fan looks to be a cube.

GNU 3-ply gave D top billing, but the rollout (1296 on 'Expert'—cubeful 0-ply, I wanna say :p) actually relegated this play to the aforementioned close third!

Bots can be so unimaginative. Where's the flair? ^_^
