You can ask a kibitzer to leave as a player in the match or ask the TD to bar a spectator from a match but you do not have the right to tell them to leave and have it upheld. This is the way it should be.

I have only heard stories of when any player could bar a spectator being abused but I understand and fully agree with the rule as it is in place. If there's a real reason for a kibitzer to be bared from a match then the player in the match can tell the TD. I don't care if it's body odor, he's talking too loud to other players watching, he's shaking the table, whatever will suffice. However, I have heard stories of players baring for example the other player's wife for no reason whatsoever. (other than to get him steamed up I imagine) That's horseshit and creates a very bad environment and takes a lot of the enjoyment out of the event.
