There are so many potential problems with kibitzers that I would prefer if the old rule were still in force that any player may bar any kibitzer without giving a reason. Just the fact that a player is annoyed or distracted by a kibitzer is enough. A kibitzer's right to watch shouldn't be more important than a player's right to concentrate on the match.

Players have enough to think about and pay attention to without having to worry about bad, rude, or annoying behavior from kibitzers. Such behavior is far from the norm, but I've experienced my share: including a prospective next-round opponent loudly hemming when my (much weaker) opponent was about to make a bad play, followed by opponent changing the play to the best one; including a prospective next-round opponent loudly complimenting my (somewhat weaker) opponent on a certain play; including a spectator ostentatiously taking a pip count (not aloud); including (amusingly) a pair of spectators, friends of my opponent, ostentatiously trying to apply psychokinetics to the dice. Barred, barred, barred, and barred.
