Because 1/3rd of my opponent's rolls leave the double shot next turn when I'd be prepared to hit and there should of course be enough shots down the road even if I don't hit the immediate 1/3 jackpot. The easy why answer would be because the right play wins the most games and loses the least amount of gammons, but that felt like a cop out.
