CSI March 4th-6th

Since I had previously discussed my various thoughts regarding attending this event (e.g. http://www.bgonline.org/forums/webbbs_config.pl?noframes;read=82956 ), for the sake of closing the book I thought I would respond here.

I will not be attending, but for the most part the reasons are not related to the topics raised in previous threads related to the various changes in policy related to the CSI event. Between a commitment I made to family to scale back on time away from home, as well as other personal reasons, I will likely be attending only 8 ABT events in 2011 instead of the 10 or 11 I have averaged over the past 5 years.

CSI did not survive the cut. While I support Bill's innovative approach for this event to try to restore some of the class and social aspects of the tournament scene of years past, in the end, I had to pick a few events to miss. Not only do I favor events that are clock friendly, but I also favor Swiss, I favor double elimination and I always love the scene and long match lengths in Vegas.

I wish Bill and all attending the CSI event my best. I'll see everyone in Vegas in April.
