Hmmm...you're right, this is a good way to think about it, and now I see two other plays that seem viable: 24/22 and 8/7(2). Still not sure, but now I don't think I like 6/4 or 8/7 5/4 any more. But 24/23 8/7 still looks like a viable candidate to me.
