Federation/Organizations in Canada

Well we do have one official federation in Canada but it is at the provincial level, and won't be any surprise to most that it is Quebec. I wouldn't even consider the idea of eliminating any of the provincial organization. But an organization that covers all of Canada can bind the other organizations together. Consolidate rankings/ratings etc. Clearly there would be collaboration.
I think working with the UBSGF is more than likely, and maybe even the ABT. 75% of all Canadians live within about 120 miles of the US border. I think trying to promote the idea that ABT events at the right venues and locations in Canada would help promote Backgammon on both sides of the border. I do recognize that it is "American backgammon Tour", but you can stretch it a bit for Canada since we are part of "North America".
As for the provinces, some of them are the size of many European nations combined. You'd be surprise how much it costs to travel in just Alberta. Either you take the aeroplane and pay the nice steep rates or you drive, and depending on where the event is - 4 to 11 hour drive. Ontario and Quebec are huge but I will admit they do have better rail service between some major centres.
